Gym Clubs in Town ....

To my knowledge, you can find several fitness clubs in town, offering different levels of equipement. In order to have a good idea of where they are located and distance, I use the Pagoda as a reference point ("A"), the "B" point being the sports center itself ...

- Sports Center (Haiyu North Road) : Nice environment if you want to be with others

I go to this fitness center for 10 month, I think it's not bad.

You have a big area for fitness, with all the fitness and cardio-training equipment.
You have one area for the dance and the group training, one area for yoga,
one area for "Bike fitness".
You can also play badmington (6 court), and ping-pong.
And to finish, a big quiet swiming pool not too cold....

Total center is quite modern and clean.

If you want the full activities card, price is arround 3000rmb for one year.
But in december I think they have some promotion,
and if some of you are interested, go together, I'm sure you can negociate the price.

The center is in the buiding at the right of main entrance of the hotel, in the 3rd floor.

I am the member of IMPULSE FITNESS in Tianming Hotel , it is not bad, i go there quiet often, normally for yoga and spining, sometimes for other class like dance and runing also, because this fitness club is very close my home and the whole place looks pretty nice.

does impulse classes cater to the non Chinese speakers among us???

They don't speak english,
just some coach can speak a few words,
but it's not a problem,
it's a good place to use body language

Will's in WalMart Mall has all translated classes program at the front desk ... Not sure, if they can speak fluently english, but I know some friends who go there and they don't speak a word of chinese ... Doesn't seem to be a problem ...

I think you don´t need to speak chinese in a gym.
you should know what you want.

i saw the Impulse homepage looks not bad.

But i am searching a gym with many programs like spinning or kick boxing.

would be nice if you have some info.

Give it a try at Will's in WallMart near the cinema entrance ... They might have what you are looking ... For the spinning for sure, for the kick boxing, maybe ...
